In an effort to develop students’ critical thinking and encourage meaningful discourse, CIU organized an engaging series of debates for its students. This event saw five diverse groups of students step onto the stage to tackle pertinent issues, reflecting the essence of everyday life.

While debating may already be a common occurrence in our daily classes, the KPDI took it to the next level, offering an organized, timed, and professional platform for students to hone their skills.

The topics addressed touched the core of our daily experiences, from heated discussions on Adoption and the Rights to Carry Weapons to the contemplation of complex issues like Assisted Suicide (Euthanasia) and the Banning of Death Penalty. Students engaged in spirited debates, offering diverse perspectives and demonstrating exceptional critical thinking skills.

Events like these break the confines of the classroom, challenging students to think beyond the textbooks and handouts. It is a testament to KPDI’s commitment to fostering a community of thoughtful, open-minded individuals who can grapple with real-world complexities.

On December 4, 2022 CIU, with Dialogue and Culture and Violet organizations held a seminar for their students on the importance of family, diversity and character building. The aim of the seminar was to create an environment in which students build better relations with families and their peers. The seminar was presented by Dr. Arin Ahmed Mohammed, a university lecturer and a human development trainer. Students of the KPDI attended the seminar and had a fruitful discussion with Dr. Arin and their peers on the significance of accepting diversity in the families to create an inclusive society for all.
